My Journey: From Community Roots
to Chiropractic Care
Supporting Indigenous wellness through education, mobility, and community engagement.
Aaniin, I am Dr. Chett Monague
I am an Anishinaabe chiropractor from Beausoleil First Nation. My path into healthcare has never been linear—it has been shaped by community, culture, education, and a commitment to supporting Indigenous wellness.
The teachings of the Medicine Wheel and Mnobimaadzwin (living life in balance) guide the way I show up as a clinician, educator, and wellness advocate.
My Philosophy
"Every patient I meet is on their own healing path—I am an active partner in helping them move with confidence, strength, and balance."
The Path to Here
Where It Began
Growing up in community, I learned early the importance of relationality, reciprocity, and caring for one another. These values inspired me to pursue studies in biology, education, and later chiropractic care, creating a foundation for both scientific understanding and community-centered teaching.
Academic Foundations
I completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Bachelor of Education before entering the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
My background as a certified teacher helped shape my approach as a healthcare provider—one grounded in communication, accessibility, and patient empowerment. Additional qualifications in Special Education, Mental Health First Aid, and Infection Prevention strengthened my ability to understand and support diverse patient needs.
Becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic
During my Doctor of Chiropractic training, I developed skills in neuromusculoskeletal assessment, differential diagnosis, manual therapy, rehabilitation, and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
But what defined my training most was my commitment to Indigenous health. I served as President of the CMCC Indigenous Student Association, advocated for cultural safety within the profession, and supported peers and faculty in integrating First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives.
A Career Rooted in Indigenous Health
Practicing in Toronto through Liberty Clinic and Full Circle Chiropractic & Wellness.
Clinical Practice
My clinical work focuses on patient-centered treatment, accessible care, trauma-informed practice, and blending chiropractic rehabilitation with culturally grounded health teachings. I offer mobile care to meet patients where they are.
Educator & Speaker
Instructor at Queen’s University supporting Ontario Certified Teachers in integrating Indigenous curriculum. I deliver keynotes centering medicine wheel goal setting, resilience, and culturally safe wellness strategies.
Community Support
Experience as a COVID-19 Navigator at Wiidokdaadwin Interprofessional Health Clinic, designing culturally relevant supports for community safety and well-being.
Why I Do This Work
"My purpose is simple: to improve access to culturally safe chiropractic care and support Indigenous wellness through education, mobility, and community engagement."
